Michael Weinper, M.P.H., P.T. Founder and President |
| Michael Weinper founded Progressive Physical Therapy in 1977 in Tarzana, California. Progressive Physical Therapy has grown over the last twenty-seven years to five locations in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys and employs a professional and support staff of over forty employees. In 1985, he started Physical Therapy Provider Network (PTPN), an independent practice association of physical therapists, now in twenty-three states. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science, Physical Therapy, from California State University, Northridge. He then earned a Certificate in Physical Therapy and Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Services Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. He specializes in hand rehabilitation including splinting, lower extremity rehabilitation and TMJ therapy. In 2000, Michael was nationally recognized by his peers when he was awarded the prestigious Robert G. Dicus Award for outstanding private practitioner by the Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. Mr. Weinper received the California Physical Therapy Association. s highest honor; the Royce P. Noland Award of Merit for outstanding and unique contributions to the profession in 1987. He has been involved in many civic service organizations and currently serves as President of the Los Angeles Valley College Patron's Association. His outside interests include golf, sailing, walking, travel and fishing.

Ruth Gomez, Dr. P.H., P.T. Clinical Director |
| Ruth graduated from San Fernando Valley State College (CSUN) in 1970 earning her BS in Health Science. In 1972, she obtained her MPH from UCLA and went on to earn her Doctor of Public Health in 1978 from UCLA. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Public Health Association and specializes in pediatrics, knees, shoulders, hands, lymphedema, cancer and incontinence. Ruth became interested in physical therapy when she was a patient herself who sustained a major trauma to her spine and leg as a teenager and she has enjoyed her profession for over 34 years. Aside from being a physical therapist, Ruth is an associate professor with California State University and an alpaca and llama breeder. |

| Michelle obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in Manila, Philippines in 1998. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association & the Orthopedic Section of APTA. She has worked in various settings both in the Philippines & USA (Oklahoma & California). She has developed great passion in orthopedics & manual therapy & has been pursuing continuing education on related subjects throughout her career. Aside from English, she is fluent in Filipino (Tagalog & Visayan) & Chinese (particularly Fookien) languages. Her interests include reading, traveling, swimming, etc. |

Carol Powell, P.T. Physical Therapist |
| After earning her BS in Health Science in 1970 from San Fernando Valley State College (CSUN), Carol obtained her certificate in Physical Therapy from UCLA. For many years she worked in various hospital settings where she enjoyed helping pediatric, stroke, and orthopedic patients. She experienced the multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary approach to patient care while being the physical therapist for Spina Bifida and Hemophilia teams. With an interest in behavior modification, she researched the effects/outcomes of these techniques on children with hemophilia.
After being director of physical therapy at a community hospital in the San Fernando Valley, she assisted in setting up a private physical therapy department. She worked in a chronic pain management setting prior to joining the staff at Progressive Physical Therapy, where she particularly enjoys orthopedics and physical therapy management of multiple sclerosis. Outside interests include jogging, tennis, baking, paper crafts, and reading. |

Brian McDermott, M.P.T. Physical Therapist |
| Brian graduated with a Master's in Physical Therapy from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. His clinical experiences include outpatient orthopedics, acute inpatient rehabilitation and sports injuries. Brian has an expertise in running injuries as he is a competitive long distance runner and competed in multiple marathons and triathlons. Brian enjoys working with the mature population and has a great deal of experience working with younger patients and athletes involved in biking, swimming, soccer, tennis, basketball, golf and baseball. He provides his patients helpful information on how to live a healthy lifestyle and incorporates Pilates based themes into his treatments. |

Diane Poladian, P.T., O.C.S. Clinical Director |
| Diane attended California State University, Northridge where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and her Certificate of Physical Therapy in 1977. Diane joined Progressive Physical Therapy in 1985 and has served as the Clinical Director of both the Santa Clarita and Granada Hills offices. She is currently a member of the Pediatric Pain Management Team at UCLA, providing biofeedback and physical therapy services. Diane has guest lectured at Loma Linda University and California State University, Northridge. She has assisted with teaching with the North American Orthopedic Institute of Manual Therapy. Diane. s special interests include orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, temporalmandibular joint rehabilitation, biofeedback, and Pilates. |

Julie Bulatowicz, M.S., P.T. Physical Therapist |
| Julia obtained her Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1998 and a member of the Orthopedic Sectoion since 2005. Originally from Hershey, PA; Julia moved to California to complete a year-long advanced orthopedic training course taught by Michael Miller PT, OCS. Additionally, she has completed advanced coursework in manual therapy and diagnosis including Janet Travell's trigger point class; Brian Mulligan's joint mobilization with movement; the Janda Approach to Musculoskeletal Pain Syndromes and Medical Screening and Diagnosis for Physical Therapists. When Julia is not in the clinic, she enjoys many physical activities including mixed martial arts, rollerblading, ice skating, snowboarding, hiking, and biking. |

Christine Kearney, D.P.T. Physical Therapist |
| Christine graduated from California State University Northridge (CSUN) with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development (2004) and later received her Doctorate degree in physical therapy from Chapman University (2008). She has had a variety of clinical experience within the field of physical therapy with her emphasis being in outpatient orthopedics. Christine feels that physical therapy is about treating the person as a whole and being able to give individualized attention to everyone's needs. She hopes to further enhance her knowledge and skills in manual therapy especially when dealing with the spine and shoulder. Her favorite activities include hiking, camping, reading, yoga, jewelry making, and spending time with her family and friends. |

Tina Shockley, B.S., P.T. Clinical Director |
Tina graduated from Santa Clara University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Marketing while on a volleyball scholarship. She worked in sales and marketing prior to returning to school in 1997, when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from California State University, Northridge. Tina has many specialties including sports injuries, manual therapy, custom orthotic evaluation and fabrication, back education and training, balance dysfunction, TMJ dysfunction, pediatric torticollis, the osteopathic approach to the cervical and lumbar spine, kinesiotaping, and functional mobilizations.
Tina is a Certified Mat Pilates Instructor and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1995 and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2005. In 2010, she finds herself once again returning to school to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. When she is not working, you can find Tina playing a variety of sports with her kids including soccer, volleyball, basketball, backpacking and snow skiing. She also enjoys traveling with her family and spending time with friends. |

Shelly Cloughley, M.P.T. Clinical Director |
Shelly earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with emphasis in community health from San Diego State University in 1991, after which she attended College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific to earn her Master of Physical Therapy in 1995. Shelly has been associated with Progressive Physical Therapy, Inc. since 1992. Her specialties range from orthopedics, sport injuries, manual therapy, pain management, kinesiotaping, orthotic evaluation and custom orthotic fitting.
Shelly is a certified Pilates instructor, as well as, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Shelly is currently working on her doctorate in Physical Therapy. When not working, you'll find her playing tennis, hiking, traveling and hanging out with friends and family. |

Kathy Caplan, P.T., C.S.S.T., Physical Therapist |
Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1985 from California State University Long Beach. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1984. Kathy earned a certification in senior strength training that she utilizes in the clinic with her clients. Kathy has extensive experience in a hospital setting working with a variety of patients with chronic pain, orthopedic injuries/surgeries, Diabetes, high-risk pregnancy, and burns/wounds.
Kathy has 16 years of Aquatic Therapy experience with orthopedic and neurologic patients. She has worked in a private practice orthopedic setting for the last 12 years and opened/directed 3 clinics for a large HMO organization. Kathy has received advanced training in Lymphedema Management using the Le Duc Method and has treated a variety of patients helping to improve the quality of their life. Kathy enjoys expanding her knowledge through continuing education classes. When not working she enjoys fishing, hiking, trips to the mountains, crafts, sewing and time with her family and Shih Tzu Teddy. |

Stacy Jensen, C.H.T., O.T.R./L |
Stacy Jensen graduated from USC in 1982 with a BS in Occupational Therapy. She developed an interest in rehabilitation when a high school friend suffered a head trauma which left him in a coma for 6 months. She watched her friend regain his speech, ability to walk, and perform his basic daily needs including driving an adapted vehicle. Such inspiration! Stacy began her career at Olive View Medical Center where she worked in the Rheumatology and Plastic Surgery clinics. The treatment of diseased and injured hands fascinated her. With mentoring by outstanding physicians in these fields she became proficient in "Hand Rehabilitation."
Stacy became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1992, and has been rehabilitating hands for 27 years. She enjoys challenging cases such people who suffer from traumatic hand injures (crushes, amputations, etc.) and arthritis. She loves to educate her clients and enable them to take an active role in their recovery. Ergonomic education and fabrication of custom splints or orthotics keep her interested and challenged in her area of expertise. Functional screenings to assess clients for postural deficits are a new addition to her skills set. These assessments may reveal other areas of the body that need treatment in order to function at full capacity. Stacy loves spending time in the outdoors body surfing, hiking, playing with her dogs. She attends yoga regularly to keep her mind and body in shape. |

Mike Saguibo, B.S., M.P.T. |
A background in athletics and other outdoor activities cultivated Mike Saguibo's passion for Physical Therapy. He graduated from California State University at Northridge in 1999, obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. After working in the Entertainment industry for five years, he realized that his passion for sports combined with his amiable personality was more suited for helping others change their lives. Therefore, he returned to school to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
In 2009, he earned his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from California State University at Northridge. Along with his professional background, he now brings a fresh perspective and approach to quality patient care at Progressive Physical Therapy. He enjoys treating many diagnoses including sports injuries, work related injuries, and post-surgical recovery. Mike is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2006. Mike always finds time to spend with his family, as well as being avidly involved with recreational sports activities. |

Lorena Zeballos, LMT, CPT, CHNC |
Lorena is a nationally-certified Personal Trainer through the National Personal Training Institute in Santa Monica, accredited through the national Strength & Conditioning Association (NCSA). In addition, she is a certified Mat Pilates Instructor, a certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant through the global College Of Natural medicine, a certified Massage Therapist since 2000 and a certified Hypnotist. Lorena enjoys working with the adult population and has been a member of the American Senior Fitness Association since 2008.
Lorena currently is a coach for Competitive Athletic Training Zone (CATZ), a program designed for sports enhancement and injury prevention, for both the youth and adult population. Her eclectic experience enables her to help her clients focus on the mental and physical aspects of personal wellness. Her interests are spending time with her husband and dogs, going on hikes, marathons, and outdoor fitness. |

Gary Kelly, M.A., P.T. Clinical Director |
| Gary earned his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education in 1971 and Master of Arts in Kinesiology in 1973 from California State University, Los Angeles. He then completed his certificate in Physical Therapy in 1976 from Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He served as Director of Physical and Occupational Therapy and Administrative Director of Rehabilitation at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital for 7 years. In 1989, Gary joined Progressive Physical Therapy as Clinical Director of the Palmdale office. He specializes in orthopedics and pediatric rehabilitation. Gary enjoys creating a positive impact on people's lives, particularly children. His outside interests include country dancing, camping, and fishing. |

| Tahni obtained a Bachelor of Arts in General Science and a Certificate in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa in 1974. She specializes in workers’ compensation injuries and has extensive experience in group education, hand therapy, orthopedics and geriatrics. She ran on-site physical therapy clinics at the Department of Water & Power, Lockheed Martin, and McDonnell Douglas, Helicopter Division. She also co-owned a private practice specializing in workers’ compensation in Los Angeles. She enjoys the study of anatomy, ergonomics, musculoskeletal disorders, kinesiology, as well as exercises. Tahni is a Pilates Mat instructor and studied the Feldenkrais Method. Aside from physical therapy, Tahni enjoys walking and painting. |

| Christine earned her Bachelor of Science from California State University, Northridge and her certificate in Physical Therapy from CSUN/UCLA in 1981. She developed a specialty in neonatal and pediatric rehabilitation while at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in addition to advancing rapidly to Senior Therapist level. She joined Progressive Physical Therapy-Palmdale in 1989. Christine has numerous years of experience working with a variety of patient groups including cardiac rehabilitation, general medicine, acute/inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient neurology and orthopedics. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three children. |
